YOUth Education Intention and "The Quest"

Greetings from your new Youth Ed. director team! We are excited to continue the ministry that Leila has cultivated in partnership with our Sunday School teachers, children and parents.  It is our intention to encourage the unique truth and its expression in each of our children.  One of the gifts of being involved with youth ministry is the opportunity to see and feel and know the God process at work in these young hearts and minds.  Our intention is to hold them lovingly to their highest selves, and give them an experience of being seen and heard and welcomed into our church and our world!  We give thanks for and honor the light inside of each child as they discover and live out who they really are:  Thank you GOD!  In keeping with the above intentions, we have implemented the use of a Unity children’s curriculum called “Children on the Quest”.  We are delighted to support our teachers with this easy to use and absolutely AWESOME resource.  The theme of these lessons is “the quest” as defined by many of our world’s well known stories, the journey of our lives that brings us both introspect and deeper into the world.  The lessons focus on ways that we learn and grow as we live and love, and encourage the children to meditate on and experiment with Unity principles in their daily lives.  Sample headings include:  ‘Who is Jesus? Who am I?; ‘Heaven is here & now’; ‘Know God and get more good’; ‘listening to silence’.  This curriculum has been adapted from an adult course of study, and Rev. Philip has requested that we offer the Quest to every age group.

Just think of what doing this kind of exploring could create in families and in our entire church community!  We are absolutely grateful for the ministry that is entrusted to us, and our hope is that you will partner with us in any way that Spirit calls you.  Blessings to you in the burgeoning Spring!…Kim McKeehan and Marcella Babineaux

ROOTS AND SHOOTS

Roots and Shoots is an International Children's Service group begun by Jane Goodall (Gorilla's In The mist movie). We gather in support of a better world through activities that benefit the Earth, animals and people. Our learning projects empower children for a lifetime of volunteerism and activism.

Our local Bozeman Chapter is actively welcoming new families with preschool and elementary school age children. We meet every other Friday at 3pm.

Recent activities include collecting toys for the Intermountain Children's Home; providing a meal for a hungry family; a cookie social at the Gallatin County Rest Home; and learning with the Predator Conservation Alliance.

Please contact Sabrina Moody at 585-0927 or Sasha Lindberg at 388-0707.  Our children learn so much from giving to others.
